What are you working on this month? (July 2019)

How is it July already?!

With every new month comes a new chance to talk about what you're working on and meet other founders. Here's how you can join the discussion:

First, respond to someone else who's commented, just to say hello or leave them some feedback!

Next, leave your own comment describing what you're working on (or aspiring to work on), and your biggest goal for July.

That's it!

Excited to hear from everyone and see what you're working on!

Working on Versoly SaaS focused landing page builder.

Want to get the first paying customers this month. So will be working on marketing mainly.

    1. 2

Getting the first customer is a great goal :) Even just 1 will keep you excited and keep the ball rolling!

      1. 1

Even having users demo it is a great feeling. Can't wait for a paying customer.

I am creating a marketplace for buying and selling small online businesses. The marketplace will include verified listings, vetted buyers, Escrow.com integration for instant purchases and much more.

Edit: The site is ready. Sign up now to list your business for sale: https://whobal.com

Working on the exact same thing, good to see some competition.

      1. 1

Awesome. I am glad to know about it. Do let me know when it is ready :)

I have launched the beta site today: https://whobal.com

        1. 1

Design looks great, are you just using Bootstrap?

    2. 1

I was trying to do the same thing in gaming space, Good to see some realizing their dream.

      1. 1

Thank you! I just put the site live today. So if you are selling any side project, list it for free: https://whobal.com

Interesting space that I was looking to explore / partner with. Feel free to DM me on Twitter if you want to talk more about this.

      1. 1

        Hi Danial,

The site is now live: https://whobal.com. Just give it a try and share your feedback :)

    5. 1

Sounds like a great idea! How long have you been working on it and how far are you from launching?

      Good luck!

      1. 1

Thanks. I was planning to create this site since last 2 years but always got delayed due to some reasons.

Finally last month, I find some time to work on it. So it took me 1 week of research and 2 weeks of extensive coding to create a beta version.

        Here is the link: https://whobal.com

I would love to hear your feedback.

  3. 5

My site is supposed to launch today..

So this month ..God willing...I will be working on my project .

SearchTile.com was built 3 Dimensionally , because the internet is a 3-dimensional space , containing literally billions of destination pages and websites.

    • Edit = The website is a 3 dimensional search engine..based on the idea that CYBERSPACE is actually a 3 dimensional space of galactic proportions....

    Works best on destop
    use left & right click + A & D to navigate

The search engine part should be uploaded later today

    1. 1

Love your idea. Gonna check it out on desktop cause it seems not to work on mobile.
      Still, super intriguing concept.

      1. 1

It does work best on desktop

    2. 1

Hahahaha this is a wild thing. Looks like you have more plans in the pipeline, but I have nooooo clue what this is right now. Keep us updated, there's something here I think

    3. 1

What in the hell is this hahaha
That interface took me back, very unique/different
      It works just interesting approach

You can't click/change the navbar with the crosshair-cursor?

  4. 5

Just pushed the update on Draftss.com website live over the weekend. Spending the next couple of days testing the live website for any bugs/errors. Once done, I shall focus on marketing for the complete month.

    1. 1

Found a major bug, you don't use HTTPS! I tend to leave a website immediately if it's not supported at all, as it highlights a bit of a lack of attention to detail.

      1. 1

Thanks for your feedback, @DanWalker. We had that in our list of upgrades that we are currently working on. After this comment, integrating SSL certificate jumped straight to the first priority. We have got the changes done, you can now browse through our website safely and securely.

        1. 2

Nice work. Part of the reason I always suggest that to people that don't have HTTPS enabled, is because of how quick/easy it is to fix - as you have just highlighted :)

    This month I’m launching www.callcast.co

A super easy way to record, edit, and publish podcasts right from your phone. CallCast records podcasts using phone calls or VoIP calls so its super easy to get guests on your show.

    1. 1

Wow. This is a cool idea.

    2. 1

      Interesting, its quite the niche.

      1. 1

I guess you need to scratch your niche 🤷‍♂️

    3. 1

Beautiful design. I am not a podcast person, but that looks promising!

      1. 1

Thanks for the kind words 😊🔥

    4. 1

Interesting! How is the recording quality? I’m experimenting with zencast at the moment.

      1. 1

Hi 👋 There are 3 ways you can record.

        1. By Phone call: which is the simplest and easiest way to record with a guest but it sounds like you are on a phone call so your audience will know that you are on a call.
        2. App-2-App which is a VoIP call. This is the equivalent of a Skype call recording quality.
        3. Phone mic which is excellent because you are using your phones mic in the app but this option is not for remote calls.

If you want to try it out for some recordings let me know. I’m getting ready to launch this month. Thanks.

  6. 3

I change gears this month and make michaelagreiler.com my main project I’ll work on instead of zweimalfreude.at. Planning on 6 new blog posts this month, and firstly, some audio interviews. I also participate in the 30 days challenge and document my progress here: https://www.hustleup.io/30-days-of-growth-challenge/

    1. 1

Hi Michaela, I really like your blog! Clear design and the in-depth article on "How to give great code review feedback" really resonated with me. That's pretty much how we handle it at the company I work for.
As I want to launch my own blog this month, I wish you all the best with the 30 days of growth challenge! Hope you'll see the results you want to get.

      1. 1

Hey Simon, thanks. You just brought a big smile on my face! I really like blogging about software engineering.
Once you started, send me your link. Happy to follow your journey!

  7. 3

I'm working on closing some more clients for the consulting arm of Shoppe, which is the top of our value ladder.

And then also launching a huge update (sort of pivot) for our Saas offering.

    1. 1

Big fan of your story :D

      1. 1

Thanks! Been following yours as well lol!

    2. 1

Kind of funny seeing this service on here. We used to use roewith.me back in the day!

I am working on a web crawler tool that should be more advanced and cheaper then any that i know about. But i hope that i have some version done within this or next week. :)

    1. 1

I've been looking into building a web crawler as well. What tech stack will you be using?

      1. 1

Hi, i am using Scala on backend with few cool libraries. Postgres 11 as my db. I will also probably use Scala on frontend without any fancy framework.
        :)

  9. 3

This month I’m hopefully going to launch a new app template on Instakotlin.com .

    1. 1

Hey wow look at that! Of the options you have out there currently I'd definitely suggest the e-commerce template to be pushed to the front of the line, it's something that I think would have the most demand based on who I work with on a daily basis.

      1. 1

Hey, thanks for the tip! Definitely pushing it up on the list :)

  10. 3

I'm closing out the first cohort of the Sales for Founders course and doing a lot of work to launch a new, cheaper, still-awesome version at the beginning of August!

Part of that is me 'eating my own dogfood' and livestreaming how I come up with a side project and find my first customers. You can follow that journey here if you like.

    1. 2

Looking forward to see the progress you make on the side project. Hopefully will learn a lot.

  11. 2

Here are the top items on my ✅ to-do:

👉 Launch our new funnel + new creative for ads
👉 Set up Pipedrive / Hubspot to follow up with leads
👉 Launch my blog (Productized Startups) - already built a 900+ members community (https://www.facebook.com/groups/192719694795609)
👉 Interview at least 5 productized service founders for my community in July
👉 Travel to 🇭🇰 Hong Kong

    1. 1

      Nice todo list.

Any tips on growing a facebook group? And was it worth it?

  12. 1

We’re in the middle of raising our first seed round, so we’re finalising a working demo our app to blow our investors away 😎

If anyone’s interested in checking out the product, you can do that here :) https://sizle.io/

  13. 1

We are working on a landingpage for a new local platform. My goal of this week is to create the first version of a landingpage.

  14. 1

Continuing work on https://leanpub.com/webapp-testing-guidebook, mainly building out all the examples I plan on using in the various chapters. Really needing to make some progress on this so I can more forward with some other projects I've got in the pipeline...

  15. 1

I continue working on my book https://vpsformakers.com/, but also plan on doing small updates for https://www.gettandem.com/.

  16. 1

We are working on a software called cutehr.com . Mainly work on polishing and documentation this month .

We are making a minimal hr solution for small companies / startups like ours.

  17. 1

Working on https://bookis.io . its a CRM of sorts for appointment-based businesses. This month I am focusing on getting my first customers.

  18. 1

This is a small project just for fun, and I haven't deployed to my domain yet (demvote.us), but I'm building a simple, no-barriers polling system for the elections in the US.

Instead of a bulky, tedious polling application - people can just send a link and instantly vote for the candidate they like best.

It's kind of fun, it's easy (no user barriers, no account creation, etc.), and it's a bit game-ified.

  19. 1

For July, these are the things i want to accomplish:
a.) ETL Testing services content for the landing page
b.) Strategies when dealing clients' database

  20. 1

Helping debug QuickCut.io. Cold contacting people to test out the app. Making some progress on my course. Excited to use the app to edit my videos! Learned a bit about Youtube marketing in preparation for making videos. Still working on my ebook on FounderPad. Started a side project for QuickCut (already launched but needs lots of work: https://www.coursebase.io/) Many moving parts...

  21. 1

Hey! We launched www.docup.co this month. We do automated stip/reference/document collection for auto and real estate loans. When a lender needs proof of income or proof of residence, we provide a way for users to take photos of their documents on their phones and upload them on our website, no matter where in the world the customer may be.

I just made some changes to our home page to show the product off and fine-tune it for our auto dealer audience.

    This month we're focusing on:

    • Calling attention to the real estate lending product
    • Building and testing drip email campaigns
    • Google Ad campaigns
    • Identifying and customizing information for different personas

I'm also looking at spending some time to build out a campaign for realtors, since they don't need the professional backing of an agency to use DocUp.

I'd love any feedback you hackers have!

  22. 1

Going to launch Curate (curate-app.com) this month!

Curate is an analytics tool that combines your hashtag utilization with your Instagram Business insights and empowers you to maximize the exposure of your content.

I have been working on it for a little under a year to make this into a reality. It has a lot of moving parts behind the scenes and seeing it all together is quite rewarding. Going through the final steps of getting it production ready, Instagram approval and a few marketing videos to show off the web app. Looking forward to getting more eyes on it than family and friends and create a niche community with a tight feedback loop to iterate quickly based on their needs.

Now the real work begins :)

  23. 1

I’m hoping to start accepting beta users to my new chromecast service that I’m building.

It’s a service that will let you customize your chromecast backdrop (ambient mode) to turn it into a dashboard/digital sign/info board. The images that are shown can be set on a schedule based on uploaded photos or created dynamically from data pulled from remote sources. As a bonus, the chromecast will still function as a casting device and the dashboard images will display again as soon as you’re done casting.

  24. 1

Trying out a new payment project (https://www.liroop.com).

  25. 1

Link Reminder - a Slack assistant that automatically creates and follows up on reminders.

The MVP is built out, in the last 2 months since launch, we've gotten 400 installs. This month will be dedicated to validation, sales, and marketing.

  26. 1

I will be working into improving some prediction models on my face recognition SaaS at https://rosto.io

It is hard as it takes time to (re)train and try to improve certain models. Hope I can get an improvement on regardless model within the product.

  27. 1

I'm working on my side project https://codereview.chat/. It's a slack bot that helps with keeping track of pull request reviews. The MVP is a bit crude by now, but hopefully I can iron it out and make it actually useful soon 😅

Goal #1 for July is to get my first paying customer! 🤞

  28. 1

Just finished with the MVP for https://planshare.co so this month, i want to get some early adapters onto it, this will help refine the flow and validate the idea. Furthermore, I want to figure out more marketing channels, update the copy on the landing and anywhere else possible on the Site.

  29. 1

Right now we are in middle of a big UX revamp for CryptoTrader.Tax

Last tax season was our first real year and we found some huge friction points for people using the website. Now that we have some downtime, we are trying to do it right and get everything in place for next year.

  30. 1

Hoping to finally launch the iOS version of RunmoreApp.com Apple's review process is excruciating sometimes...

  31. 1

I plan to create a content strategy for my project Wham Bam! (https://whambam.io/). By the end of July, my goals are (a) get 4-5 blog posts out (the current posts are just placeholders) and (b) start out-reach to WordPress bloggers to get feedback on the product. I had planned to launch with a freemium model day one, but I've decided it is better to introduce subscriptions later once the product is 'well-rounded'.

  32. 1

Trying my best to get new users onto pulsemetrics.io, that should take up much of my time.

Also trying to find companies in industries that desperately need a tech upgrade (currently looking at trucking, but who knows where I'll be at the end of the month!).
