"I'm an introvert and I had to see people all day long. As a banker, people would walk in the door and just sit down at my desk. I really enjoy talking to people and helping them, but I would get home exhausted at the end of the day. It wasn't just the constant social interaction. It was the feeling we were meeting a quota instead of actually helping people. I was really unhappy. At the same time, people kept asking me to build them websites. Eventually, I was like, 'Why am I so focused on this stuff when something I love is sitting right there and people keep asking for it?' It was kind of a long, slow realization but, finally, it dawned on me. Now, no one is forcing me to constantly meet with people all day. I make my own schedule. And being an introvert has actually helped me to be a better boss. It was really hard on me at the bank but it's actually a strength. Introverts see and perceive things that extroverts don't. That ability to just observe, understand, and empathize is really powerful."⠀
