Who should I bring BACK on the podcast?

Are there any repeat guests you'd like to see back on the IH podcast from time to time?

I'm thinking of doing more episodes, but keeping them super casual. Just check-ins to see what people are up to lately. Maybe even bringing on random people who post great milestones. I could actually do lots more episodes if there wasn't so much pressure to find brand new guests, research them, prep questions, edit them, etc.

      +1 for Levels. He's so unfiltered and fun to listen to.

      Levels is a fun guest. He's a great way to check on the pulse of the "maker" and "nomad" communities, and he doesn't shy away from making controversial or blunt statements.

    @vwoo and @levelsio were both entertaining and insightful so it would be good to see them back. @julian gives tonnes of clear and actionable information in his two episodes so a third would be great.

    I'd like to hear more from @djbaskin and @lynnetye.

    Would also be cool to have Rob Walling, Tyler Tringas and maybe Bryce from Indie.vc on (again) to give bootstrappers an updated overview of funding options.

    Maybe 1-2 of the founders they have invested in as well?

    Not sure about who specifically to bring back on, but definitely love the idea of more "check-in" style episodes; talking through the business decisions they have recently worked through, or are currently working through.

    Personally, these are the sort of conversations I find more valuable - as they usually parallel decisions I am making. It's good to hear others work through adjacent logic, as it often triggers new ways of thinking about my decisions.

    I also think there's a lot of value in there being more content detailing people who are in the trenches, and even sometimes struggling. It's psychologically healthy to hear this content (as well as useful), rather than hearing one success story after another, through survivorship bias lenses.

    We've seen some really amazing "check-in" podcasts/episodes in the indie community lately, between Art of Product, Startups for the Rest of Us etc.

    Keep up the amazing work @csallen :)

    I'd love to hear @vwoo come back and needle @csallen some more.

    Courtland Allen: ...So we were building this task management application that let you convert your emails into tasks, check them off, it would notify whoever sent to you, "Oh, y'know, Vincent has completed the email that you sent."
    Vincent Woo: Just to clarify for the readers at home... you built a to-do list app.
    Courtland Allen: We built a to-do list app
    [Both laugh]
    Courtland Allen: And I guess the plan was to turn that into a billion dollar company somehow.
    Vincent Woo: God...

    Definitely @patio11 ... my favorite episode of the podcast for sure!

    Check-ins would be cool. I think you would just need to provide historical context for anyone that isn't an active follower of the podcast.

    One indirect benefit of check-ins and something that I've wanted for a while is a better sense of how much time it has taken for a company to get to X point. For me at least, I hear about a company and how successful they are, but that's just a snapshot of now. The reality is that it's taken 6 months, 18 months, 24 months + to get to where they are now. A more realistic sense of the company's timeline would be very enlightening and encouraging.

    Business takes times to grow and that's ok.

    I really enjoy your episodes with content creators like @wesbos and @adamwathan. Would love to hear more of them!

  8. 2

    some of my favorite episodes have been:

    @adamwathan
    @ajlkn
    @lynnetye
    @youyuxi

    and not sure if he has an IH account but Tobias van Schneider

    would be great to hear from any/all of them again in the future!

  9. 2

    Check in with Pieter would be good

    I don't have any names. But I think this is a good move. Sounds like moving a bit closer to what @wesbos does with SyntaxFM: More Casual. Short. Frequent. Lighthearted.

    They just churn out episodes

    Also the tasty treats they do are a lovely fun touch. Makes it memorable. So perhaps a recurring theme through all IH podcasts. Something like Syntax's "tasty treats" ...

    I would definitely love to have @brennandunn back on the Podcast.
    His startup Right Message is an exciting next big thing in SaaS.

    I love the idea for more relaxed chats. It would be really interesting to hear about the problems they're facing now, that they haven't solved. I'm sure many on IH are facing similar problems!

    I know his podcast wasn't very long ago, but @asmartbear always shares high value insight into his process.
