My friend is looking to sell his Wordpress Theme Biz, perhaps this is the best place to sell. Before seeing this post, I actually did a posting looking for the buyer here if there's any, so that's great! Will ask him to list it up there. Great!

          1. 1

Awesome ✌️ Let me know if you need help.

    I need help with:

    • Getting feedback on my landing page: https://www.midtype.com
    • If anyone is interested in a product like this, to give it a try and let me know what you think (get 90% off first month with coupon IHLAUNCH)

    I can help with:

    • Anything frontend: React, SSR, CSS, whatever.
    • API Design
    • UX/UI feedback/help

    Happy hacking everyone!

    1. 3

The landing page looks good for me. I'd wish more details about how it works, e.g. do I use an SDK and how the API looks like. I think the idea is similar to Firebase, with focus on SaaS. You can take a look at their landing page and maybe you'll find some ideas to further improve the landing page.

It's an ambitious project! Good luck!

      1. 1

Thanks, Alex, that's terrific feedback. Your understanding of the idea is spot on. Makes sense re: how it works. I should maybe move that section up on the page. We would like to do for SaaS what Firebase did for mobile apps, so will try to copy more stuff from their page. Appreciate it!

        1. 1

Just want to mention that Firebase is now much more than just for mobile apps, so it's a strong competitor and they offer a lot of free stuff.

          1. 1

Yep, absolutely. We're hoping to introduce free stuff too, very soon. But we want to get some paid users to help shape our roadmap for the next six months so we can figure out what exactly we should give away for free.

    2. 2

      Mid type looks interesting. :)
Would love to find out a bit more. Iam still struggling if it's a platform or a code base that I get?

      1. 1

Hi! Thanks!! Yes, we definitely need to do a better job of clarifying that on the landing page. It's closer to a platform than a codebase. You use our UI to design the data schema for your API, we deploy/manage it for you and give you the endpoint for your GraphQL API. You can then use that API to perform CRUD operations, authenticate users/authorize API requests, take payments (via Stripe) and have that user data automatically sync across your channels, and soon a few more things (ex: trigger marketing events like an email the first time a user performs a write operation).

BTW, Ezond looks really interesting as well. An all-in-one digital marketing management tool would be a cool integration for us to explore. Would love to chat more about it (maybe over DM?)

    3. 1
      1. Try to add more space between the headings and paragraphs
      2. If you click on "Try midtype" it doesn't say that you need to add the email and redirect you to the Login page which loads continously
      3. Reduce the amount of text on the first section. People don't like reading, they like to understand ASAP what the site is about.

      Overall it's pretty nice :)

      1. 2

Thanks! Definitely hear ya about the text in the first section. I need to prune it down, but having trouble. I will take another stab at it today.

Also need to clarify the "try midtype" text, good call. It does take a long time to load when our servers aren't warmed up, which might explain why it took so long. Sorry about that!

I need help with product pricing, please take this two minute survey!

    Hello everyone,

I would like to have some help with something that I am kind of anxious about. Which is talking to customers. The way I would like to come in contact with potential customers is through forums and facebook groups. However I have the feeling that If I contact random people with the question if they would be interested in my service they will put me down. Reason for this could be is that they did not join the facebook group or forum to be bugged by sellers.

The help I could offer is give some feedback on landing pages, UX / UI wise.

    1. 1

Social media lurking is a great way to do market research as well as finding leads. I'd recommend doing this on Twitter, Reddit and Quora. Key is to genuinely help someone out or ask for help.

Here's a nice guide that might help you with how to engage in a conversation - https://web.getarmada.app/tips-to-engage

    2. 1

I'm a coach. If you want, we can do a coach session on your state management. Let me know if you are interested.

    3. 1

A lot of people on here are looking for what you’re offering. Giving people landing page feedback after they actively ask for it seems like a great way to start the conversation

      1. 1

Yeah but the people on this forum are not my potential customers.

        1. 1

Who are your potential customers? Are they asking for landing page feedback like they are on here?

          1. 1

People who have interest in Whisky and want to try samples and therefore buy them at our platform from sellers who sell there private samples on our website.

  7. 2

I need help for getting early adopters to try out my service Liroop (https://www.liroop.com).
It's free during the beta mode.

    1. 1

      Hi,

I looked at your product. I would like to be to the point. I was looking at your site and wondering to myself: "Why would I need this?". There's so many products which do exactly this. And also Why is it for free. Who are you pitching this to? To end users or to shop owners?

      1. 1

        Hi,

When a customer purchases a product, the checkout process is tedious when you purchase products $30 or below. So, the idea here is that customers can process an order in one click. It just focuses on products that are $30 or below.

It's free at the moment because it's in beta mode and I'm looking for people to try so I can collect testimonials.

At the moment, I'm still thinking if I should charge the service to businesses or customers.

        1. 1

Does it work/will it work with european cards because SCA authentication law will be in effect in september?

          1. 1

In your opinion, should the service be charged by the business or customer?

            1. 1

Company gets a larger benefit if you can show testimonials that people purchase more easily with less friction. B2B is easier, or so they say! I am curious as to whether or not a solution like this will run into any legal issues.

              1. 1

                Hi,

What legal issues will I encounter?

                1. 1

I have no idea, I have no background in it. I just have a vague awareness that there are laws around internet credit card processing. Other companies have done this, like Amazon I think, but they're all companies with massive teams of lawyers.

          2. 1

At the moment, it just supports the USA and UK. Something worth thinking about in the future...

I would need to read about it. Sounds interesting...

Hello folks! I have the great pleasure and honour to be nominated for the Product Manager of the year award by Hacker Noon. 🎉

I need your vote to win the award. 😬

But you’re probably wondering how I got in this list…

I’m Timoté GEIMER, I started my career in product management at Talentsquare in 2013 until I became CEO in 2015. While I was working in the HRTech industry I contributed by organising events, giving talks and writing ebooks and articles while always trying to build a bridge between the tech and the business worlds.

In 2016, I had the great pleasure to join Elium as head of product and work again with part of the Talentsquare engineering team (what goes around comes around, right? :-p). As I shifted industry, I also decided to shift my editorial topics and recently wrote two articles. One about my role as a head of product and what I learned from building a product team from scratch. A second about our tool stack and how we use it. In this last article, I wanted to really contribute to the startup industry and give a comprehensive way of what tool we use daily (and how) in order to help others to make enlightened choices.

These two articles got a lot of exposure and this second one reached more than 2500 views in less than a week. This last article put me on the spotlight.

Being nominated by Hacker Noon is a great achievement for me because it proves that sharing my experience openly and honestly is valuable for other Product Manager and Tech enthusiasts.

If you still wonder why you should upvote, it’s simple, read the article (you can find via the link) and if you think it’s a valuable piece of content, hit the vote button (vote for Timoté GEIMER).

But hey! Hurry up, this time it’s a sprint and not a marathon!

https://noonies.hackernoon.com/award/cjxvplwud4etv0b99rd2zmgwj —> vote for Timote GEIMER

    Need Help with:

I'm looking to validate a problem that I'm interested in working on and would like to talk to 5-10 people who are full-time employees at companies. I'll keep my interviews short, 20-30 mins at most. The role you're in doesn't matter -- you could be a developer, content writer, designer, product manager, marketing or sales.

If you'd like to volunteer your time, I'd hugely appreciate it! Please reply to this if you'd like to volunteer < 30 mins of your time.

    I can help with:

    • building a v1 of your idea pretty rapidly (using Rails and React)
    • help you brainstorm/think through obstacles you've run into (I'm a 2-time co-founder, one was venture-backed SaaS)
    1. 1

Happy to help, let me know how you would like to progress.

      1. 2

Thanks @SeanPackham, appreciate it! I'll send you an email to find a time when we could speak.

    I need help with

    I can help with

    • UX and security advice / feedback

    Thanks!

    1. 1

The website was taking more than 20s to load for me so I closed out.

      1. 1

Hi, thanks for the feedback, turns out we had an outage last night on the marketing site. I am seeing <5 second page loads now if you’re up for taking another look.

        1. 1

          Yep, loaded fine just now.
I like the general design. What icon set are you using for the little images of the hacker, spy, and others? I'd love to steal it, haha. I would caution that the faceless-human image at the top of the page is starting to become considered overdone in some webdev/design communities. I have no idea whether or not that should matter to you, just something to note.
It seems to me like you are targeting a pretty large audience, and that some of the people in the audience may not have used a VPN before. Because of this, I think it would be wise to define exactly what a VPN is for your potential customers close to the start of the page.
The page seems a little bit long or empty. Maybe it's because you have two identical sign up forms, or maybe there's just a little too much space.
Lastly I'd like it if there was a pricing link in the navigation bar at the top of the page, either in a dropdown under personal or business or standing on its own. I found it at the very bottom of the page, but I'm not going to sign up for something if I don't know what the price is. For example, you specify 50% off of the first bill, but I don't know what that works out to until I find the pricing page.
Best of luck! For me, as a developer who hangs out in coffee shops, the public wifi security seems like the most appealing part.

edit: I see you define VPN's in the last question on the FAQ. I would put that straight on the landing page or have it be one of the top 3 FAQ questions.

          1. 1

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Had a chance to do another rev of the pages to address your feedback and others, if you are interested in how it came out. Still have some work to do on integrating pricing better.

As for the icons, it's not a set really, just from the Noun Project (https://thenounproject.com). They have a lot of styles in there, but it's easy enough to find ones that match. I've met some of their team in person, and they seem like a great group. Highly recommend.

You mentioned you work out of coffee shops, let me know if you want a trial to check it out, and I will get you set up!

Again, really appreciate you taking the time, was very helpful!
            Amanda

    2. 1

      Hi,

      Here is my feedback:

      1. Why do some lines start with a small letter. I.e. not a capital?
      2. I would try a different background color on your call to action button: create an account.
      3. Overall I think your product is clear.
      4. Maybe you can change the white background to something little more off white.
      1. 1

Thank you! Appreciate the feedback. We've been using lowercase headlines as a stylistic choice, but might need to reconsider, especially with long headlines. Will also take a look at colors. Thanks again.

  17. 1

I need help with design and testing. I am getting ready to relaunch www.MakersPartList.com Most of the functionality is done but the last 20% of the design work is tough, getting things to be right.

If you can take a look and let me know anything that could be changed or fixed would be awesome.

    I can help with:

    • Checking over landing pages
    • Help with sales (I'm a previous software sales guy turned engineer)
    1. 2

      I suggest the following:

      • use a transparent logo if possible.
      • decrease the size of the logo to 150px as it currently pushes the navbar links down.
      • decrease the padding for .Header class. Right now it is 50px 0. Change it to 10px 0 50px 0.
      • change the .HeaderGroup max-width to 750px. It will add more space for main heading and tagline.
      • don't use fix width for navbar or other sections. Instead use width: 100% or max-width: 100% for responsive layout.

Here is how it will look like: http://tinyurl.com/y3bk6e6t

Everything else looks good. All the best 👍

      1. 2

Awesome! thanks a bunch, this was super helpful. I'm still weak in CSS and not being organized is not helping either.

        1. 2

You are welcome. Don't worry about not being good in CSS. As a back-end developer, it took me around 8+ years to understand the basics of CSS and I am still learning every day.

Programming is all about learning and practicing. Learn one thing and start using it next time when you develop something. Eventually, you will master it.

    2. 1

Cool idea. Thoughts on site design:

      • You have some white artifacts around the logo, might try switching to an SVG.
      • The underlines in the nav are distracting, should remove. Also, the nav is too wide for mobile, so it overflows the box.
      • "Learn to design and make anything” – I would maybe change make —> build in that sentence. At first I thought the site was for UX / UI design. Maybe having an illustration of hardware in the background would help?
      • Use consistent margin / padding throughout. It will help balance the design and make it more polished.
      1. 1

I want to change the logo, but once I decide on what the final hero image will be as I dont want the colors to not work.
I changed the copy, good call.
        Thanks!

  18. 1

    Need help with:
I'm interested in building SaaS products in the alternative healthcare space. How do I get alternative healthcare practitioners (such as Chiropractors, CST Therapists, Naturopaths) to get on a Skype call with me? I would love to interview them and understand their biggest problem areas.

    I can help with:

    • LinkedIn Marketing
    • Product Feedback
    • Sales ( Outbound, Inside Sales)
    1. 2

@karthikmanjunath Honestly, I would find local practitioners then offer to shadow them by volunteering my time. It's win-win. You work in their office environment, get access to their daily challenges and they get some manual help.

      1. 2

Thanks for the reply. Yes. I'm gonna plan and visit a friend who runs an Ayurveda Clinic.

    2. 2

If you want them to hop on a call with you, the first step is to let them know! If cold calling seems daunting then just physically go talk to them. There are probably lots of alternative healthcare professionals around you, literally walk into their place of business and ask to chat. Its harder to say no in person.

      1. 1

Thanks for the reply. Yes. I'm gonna plan some walk-in's over the coming weeks.

  19. 1

    I (will) need help with...

    • integrating my new Electron app with either Paddle, Gumroad or some other licensing, delivery and payment system. Going to use Gumroad to start out with, with no licensing. A bit risky but it will be my mvp so I'm not too worried.
    • getting a job

    I can help with:

    • Content writing, self-publishing ( I've pubbed 34 erom short stories on Amazon + 1 non-fiction - made just over $14K so far), html/css. Made $1M from my first business (mail-order) although that was a while ago now but have a lot of business-building experience from that. Looking for something solid I can do remotely (I live in London, UK), helping an online business.

    1. 1

@Tobe what kind of job are you looking for?

      1. 2

At the moment I'm casting a wide net at the jobs I'm considering. Anything related to the kind of work I've done before and know I can do well. Today I've been looking at web design jobs, customer service, software testing, content writing.

  20. 1

    I need help with:

    • Validating demand for a project I started this weekend: https://travelbro.io/ - a website that helps frequent travelers automate routine search tasks that come up before each trip.

    I can help with:

    • Building a MVP in a very short time (travelbro.io was built in just over two days, including backend, frontend and data import).
    • Anything related to coding (both frontend and backend). Python, Perl, PHP, C, Java, Objective-C, HTML, JS, CSS (and various frameworks based on these technologies).
    1. 1

Really cool site man. I find this information useful as a frequent traveler, especially the power plugs.

      Tips:
Include if international driving license is accepted in the Transportations section.
Visual graphs instead of numbers on weather and crime. (Like NomadList)

You can promote this to travel related reddit subs and they would love it.

      1. 1

Hi, thank you for your feedback! Your idea on adding information on international driving licenses is great - I actually just implemented this feature and it is live already. You can give it a try now!

I will have a closer look at the visual graphs in NomadList.

Also, thanks a lot for the idea to share this in travel-related subreddits. I want to focus on making things more stable first and will definitely use subreddits to launch the product soon!

    2. 1

      Hi,

      Its a real cool idea.

      Just a few things:

      1. Why is there a need to fill out where I travel from and also my citizen ship. Because I see the link to the pages are travelbro.io/{country}
      2. Maybe a good idea to ad a functionality to keep mee posted if there is some new information.
      3. I am wondering what your business model is. The Idea is cool but how will you make money with this.?
      1. 1

        Thank you for your feedback!

        1. When submitting the form, your country of origin and your citizenship will be stored in a cookie. They are used to customize several things such as whether you need a power plug adapter (depends on your home country) or a visa (depends on your citizenship). If you just use the links directly, your country of origin and citizenship will be guessed from your IP address.
        2. We do have a newsletter for new features. But I guess you are referring to being able to subscribe to an individual travel destination?
        3. I have several ideas. One of them is affiliate marketing. We promote high-quality power plug adapters, insect repellent and other useful products and make a small comission when a user buys a product. This can be extended to more expensive products like suitcases and travel insurance later. Offering a pro version with advanced features is another option (already have a couple of ideas for that). Ads are an option that I would really like to avoid - I want keep the website as clean and useful as possible!

    We need help with:

    • articles or podcast about our marketplace, free and premium products

    We can help with:

    • advice on UI/UX, SEO and general website technologies

By the way, great topic @channingallen.

  22. 1

    Nice!

    🙏 I need help with...

    • Who is your favourite early-stage podcaster? (~5000 listens/episode or less)
    • Who is the best salesperson/'founder who does sales' that you know? I want to chat with them and (potentially) give them money and an audience

    🎁 I can help with...

    • Sales, marketing and growth advice

    1. 2

The pages seem a little overly noisy to me, especially the lower part with the various imagecards displaying right next to each other. I like the idea!

    2. 1

I feel it needs some UX work, for me it feels like a website from 2000...

      Its just my personal opinion.

    3. 1

This is a really, really cool idea. I would love to have a list of books referenced by Podcasts (specifically the "How I Built This" podcast). It would be nice to see where a book on your landing page was referenced (or search by referenced by ____ podcast).

      1. 1

        Thanks Neel,
